I guess not everyone has the time or even desire to go through every single fashion show.  I did! I watched every collection presented during the fashion week in Milan which took place from 19th to 25th February. And I have prepared for you a summary of all the most important trends presented in Milan that You should know.

So…what can we learn from Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019/20?

1. GO GREEN!

Green is a difficult color to wear. I am saying it from the experience of a makeup artist. How many green makeup propositions can You spot in the internet or magazines? Not many. After this Fashion Week the wind of change is coming! There were many different shades of green presented but keep your focus on the Eden and Guacamole Green.

2. PUT A GLOSS ON IT!

Shiny materials were trending a lot in Milan! Alberta Ferretti and Alberto Zambelli chose metallic looks while Fendi kept everything pastel and minimalistic contrasted with vinyl-like accents. And we all know women have a weakness for shiny things!

3. LACQUERED BOOTS

On almost every runway You could spot lacquered boots in many different colors. From the more classic browns and black to blue, yellow and pastel khaki. It seems like it’s gonna be a strooooong trend for the next cold season!

4. DARK CHEDDAR

Cheese lover? Me, a lot! Good news. Next fall/winter not only you will eat it but also wear it! Dark Cheddar color will be on TOP!

5. BLACK AND WHITE

Many designers went for full white outfits, not disturbed with any color distraction. Just white, eventually in the company of ecru. So clear and flawless…. though maybe not the best choice for wedding guests.

6. A BLACK SPOT

This will never be out of fashion. Black is elegant, black matches everyone, black is associated with power, fear, mystery, strength, authority, elegance, formality, death, evil, and aggression, authority, rebellion, and sophistication, black is black.

7. MONOCHROME

If You don’t want to think about this if one color matches another one then go monochromatic, it’s much easier! Choose whatever color You want, though most common on the runway were neons or nudes, black and white. Instead of playing with color combos, play with textures!

8. MIX IT UP

Mixing patterns is not news but it’s still on top and it’s becoming more and more extravagant! Look at the number of different patterns that Versace and Gucci combine together!

9. GREY AREA

I always thought about grey as the least flattering color ever but I must say that I loved some of the grey outfits presented Alberta Ferretti especially those in frosty shades. Most of the grey clothes were paired with more shades of grey or black. Just a few were contrasted with brighter colors.

10. VELVET STAYS WITH US!

Yaaaaaaaya! Velvet doesn’t go anywhere from our wardrobes and it makes me soooo happy! I love velvet. Half of my wardrobe is made of this material. It gives so much extravagancy to the simple outfit.

11. HELL-BENT FOR LEATHER

It is also one of those trends that always apply. Not only in the form of a classic leather jacket but also as a long coat, pants, waistcoat and all of this in many different colors. My fave is the Dark Cheddar one from Fendi.

12. BRIGHT-LINE RULE

Break the autumn and winter days with saturated colors and neon lights. Mix them or wear them in a monochromatic way. Focus especially on pinks, greens, yellow, blues and oranges!

13. GO BEETROOT!

Red, the color of blood and fire, is associated with meanings of love, passion, desire, heat, longing, lust, sexuality, sensitivity, romance, joy, strength, leadership, courage, vigor, willpower, rage, anger, danger, malice, wrath, stress, action, vibrance, radiance, and determination” quoted from https://www.bourncreative.com/meaning-of-the-color-red/Do You feel any of these? Or do you want to start to feel it? Then wear red! Be careful! You won’t be unseen in a red outfit.
